Right Whales
Well over a dozen off Manomet Point in Plymouth this morning and smaller pods out a bit further. If one was a diver and underwater photographer, i suspect you could get some great footage.

Was at Duxbury Beach this morning wondering when they would show up. No fish yet. Ospreys were up over the bay. A few Gannets patrolling out front.

Just heard that they are now at the east end of the canal, and the canal is closed to all traffic.

Used to live right there by White Cliffs on the cost and one year, they were so close to the beach I could have waded out to them. They were there for days, rolling all over each other. Went down to take the dog for a run on the beach and noticed that a huge wall of foam had built up at the water line, like 3' high. There were a bunch of moms down there and the kids were playing in the foam, making "santa beards". I walked over to the moms and said, "you do know what the whales are doing right?" They looked at me with a blank look. I said they're breeding and that foam is all whale jiz!! They were all like, Johnny, get a way from there and get that off of your face!! I laughed my ass off as I walked away.

The narwhal is the coolest whale going. Screw those lazy right whales !
Back in the 14th century, Basque fishermen used to bring their tusks back to Europe and claim that they were unicorn horns and blow all the money on cocaine and hookers.
European culture owes much to the Narwhal.
