Say Hi to Mac!
He will be reading this from home as he recoups from a hip replacement this past week. Spoke with him today and he's coming along well.

Thanks Ross, it is going pretty well so far. I just have to remember to not push it too fast around the house.

Hi John, As we get older things happen. Just a bump in the road. No more Newells  It's mostly freshwater spinners now. I may go out on a headboat (first time in over 32 years) for haddock/cod though.

Thank you
The hip has been bothering me for about 5 years with the last 2 being really rough. I always let work take priority and put it off.
This year I talked to the company bosses and told them I can't put this off any longer. 1 leg was 3/8" shorter than the other from being bone on bone for so long.
Range of motion was diminishing each year as well.
Now things are starting to come back and I'm psyched at the possibilities.
I al ready know I will be one of those guys who say "I should have done this a few years ago.
Thanks again for the well wishes. I'll pop in from time to time to see what you misfits are doing.

Hope it is smooth sailing on the recovery. I have one of those pikies left stashed for safe keeping. Should break it out in a couple months. No chance of me losing it to a fish, so as long as I don't cast it off it should be safe.

Hi Mac, I hope all goes well.
Been a long time, I’ve been thinking about you. I know how tough you are so you’ll do just fine I’m sure. Take it easy

Hello again everyone. Today is 2 weeks since they put in the new hip. No more pain and things are going good.
I've abandoned the walker and am now just using a cane when I go outside. Inside the house I get away without the cane.
PT started in earnest last Wednesday and I'll be going for the next 3 or 4 weeks. I should be able to get back to work middle of February.
It will be nice to not have to hobble everywhere.
Thanks for all the well wishes.
