Beer Wars
Got a movie from NetFlix last night called "Beer Wars" - great documentary style profile of what craft brewers are up against trying to get their products promoted - the Budwiser and Miller stack all the odds against them. Companies profiled are Sam Adams, Dogfish, and Stone amongst others.
If you're a beer lover check it out.

sounds cool.
definitely a good time for beer lovers right now as there are just so many breweries out there now, in fact, check out this graphic, there are more breweries now than in the last 126 years!

The craft market has been growing in recent years as the "mainstream" beers have been declining in market share.

I almost started a nano brewery 2 years ago, but after realizing that the Rhode Island beer market is run like the mafia, I said "screw that noise"...
Beer wars was great.

I guess. Just look at the shilling video game fiasco.
In RI if you own a brewery, under no circumstances are you allowed to sell direct to the public, restaurants or liqueur stores... You have to sell through a distributor. The distributors control the flow and basically make it so you have little control over who orders your beer for resale.
In mass or VT, you could start up a little farm brewery and sell direct ... That's why you see all these great little breweries with amazing beer. They are free... No distributor.. And higher profit margins as a result.
