yes very cool stuff!!

i saw a similar article on the texnologist (sp)
My fascination has always been "the creation"
of the holodeck as seen on Star Trek

everything visual isn't all that hard to replicate
has to be in 3d and all that plus lighting and shadows

but the tactile part...that's the toughy
so nanobots that flew and reassembled very fast
would have to form dense objects you could actually feel

a recent discovery i saw today was a box enclosure using origami
technique to house hydrogen and an electric charge would make the
origami box open itself thus releasing the hydrogen and allow it to burn

these little boxes could also house helium and float imo
making them a perfect floating picture screen same as seen
on a holodeck .... appearing and disappearing
