Wind has really picked up here. Just had a 40 knot gust that is the high so far this storm. Dani is in Colchester CT and said they had thunder snow and lightning. Not much on the ground here, but it is going sideways. Seems to be just cranking into peak form.

I hate when half the snow sticks to the shovel. Any of you guys use anything on a shovel. Wax or spray, very annoying........

Beamie, try Pam or silicon spray.

Just finished replacing my homemade impeller kit for the snowblower. Had first done it in 2015 and results were great, Supercharger. Threw the snow 25% further. The rubber had dry rotted and broken off. Good to go for tomorrow morning.

i spent two hours choppin out the ICE Hump at
the end of the driveway to get back to something
reasonably flat.

I already tore off my tail pipe trying to
"back in" Last Storm. Ice junks so heavy you had to use
a garden spade to pitch them over the tall snow bank.

glad it warmed up to 10 degrees and the sun's out.
going shoppin before it snow's saturday, sunday and monday

They say 16" in Plymouth, but the steady 40 took all that snow and drifted it where I didn't have to move it. My rubber in the impeller kit is toast, but it was light and easy to move.

Plowed 6hrs on an open tractor on Thurs in the blowing storm on a 1 mile long driveway- had to keep it open for the client to get out for important legal matter- back at 7 yesterday to be sure he could get out by 8 am to a doctor, shoveled 16" off walkway. Spent the rest of the day knocking back the snowbanks for the snow last night. Back this morning at 9 to plow off another 2" so the girl who takes care of all the overwintered plants could get up the driveway with her bald a$$ tires and sanded the few icy spots that get no sun.
Now another 4-8" tomorrow...........
Who do I call to get them to shut this winter off anyway?

Drove from Westport to Boston in the thick of it to make the Bruins game. Took twice as long but there were no Aholes on the highway. Besides the 7 or 8 stuck in the banks with their small 2 wheel drive cars. I'll take the 2.5 hour drive in 1 lane with no visibility over a normal 1 hour drive to Boston with Aholes the whole time. Much safer in a blizzard.

I can't route for a team that fires Claude....or Peter Laviolette or Bruce Boudreau for that matter. Not that I ever would route for the Caps or any hockey team that wears orange (those who shall never be spoken of).

Yes there was a lot of thunder snow through out the center of the state . It was due to the storm strengthening up in the atmosphere . It was during the height of the storm . Pretty cool watching lightning through a blizzard .

Looks like we are going to get a lot of rain first in Plymouth this time around, so I'm putting the boards in the truck and heading out first thing to grab a powder day on the slopes; hopefully the driving won't be too bad. Man if Tuesday weren't Valentines day, I'd already be heading to Sunday River for what I'm sure is going to be an epic snow storm for most of Maine.

Feeders are full, wood rack in and out is topped off and the wood stove is already cranking. Just need to cover some stuff that might fly and gas up the snow blower in case I need to move some snow before I head out in the am.

wow, i haven't seen snow this deep since the 1950's
it's way tooooo deep to use a snow blower at least
at first... the little birds (junco's)are hoping right outside
the window. the old fire pit chimney that's 4 ft tall
has vanished under the snow. 10 more inches coming! on wed.

Hope you like to ski or snowmobile, I see Sunday River in the last 7 days had received 47" of new snow, might have to plan a road trip.
