Worst Sports Injuries

The Theisman leg sanpping was pretty bad but this one has got to be right up there on the OMG factor. I had trouble watching it so just be warned it's not for the faint hearted but hey i'm talking to a punch of tough fisherman right?! Post em if you got em. Oh yea, I watched a video from the 80's of a Buffalo goalie Malarchuck getting his throat slashed and was pretty grossed out as well.

There was NO FOUL! Especially flagrant......

No matter how slow I play, I can't see a skate anywhere near the neck (at least in this video)?

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

You guys are way too young.

The two absolute worst were Jack Tatum's paralyzing hit on Darryl Stingley, and Tony C getting beaned.

Stingley spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair, and Tony C was never the same, and died prematurely.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

Thanks you gonna card me for smokes ,too?

I remember the cheap shot Stingley took. Was watching it with my Dad. No remorse from Tatum, and it was a preseason game. They say what comes around goes around and seeing Tatum's shriveled up, dying body on the sidelines at a USC game last year doesn't make it any less devastating a play.

Have seen Tony C's beaning, but wasn't alive for that. I think the reason they seem more devastating is because they were against the local teams.

Not too young.... was at the Oakland game... and Tony C was from my hometown of Swampscott, and I remember how his facial features were never the same again. Almost like he had a stroke, long before he actually had the strokes. His brothers' lives both changed that night too. They both kind of snapped... He was one of the three local greats that were revered around here, the others being #^&#^&#^&#^& Jauron and Harry Agganis.

Good post. I was born in 69' so I was to young to see these live but I have seen and read about these events and they both were tragic.

The line drive that Bryce Flurrie (sp?) took to the face was pretty nasty. Shattered his eye socket.
