Well thats is, took the boat to my buddy's house in Plymouththis morning, put the tarp over her, tied it down, and kissed her goodbye for 5 months. I won't even see her again till then.

Got about 1/2 dozen winter projects to do for her though.
Can't wait till spring.........

Took the boat to Montauk last weekend and they pulled her on Wed. Looking for ward to fishing Hawaii now, after that who knows?

Just brought the old girl home today. I'll winterize and put her to bed later this week.

Going to be another long winter. I'll be good for an early spring start next year though since I got most of the work done this year that I wanted to get done.

Well, this season with new boat was 7 trips and 3 props dinged. I are an expert in changing props on the i/o now. Had it winterized and took off the fenders to totally clean them from dock snock marks. Getting some compounding stuff to clean the marks off the hull. Putting two other props in the basement with battery so I can take them to dealer in Dec and February to retool for new eventful trips. New anchor is on floor in cellar so some winter night I can put it together for next season. The old anchor is sitting in 60 feet of water off the NH shore in Portsmouth. Got lots of polish and wax for warm days in April 2004.

Took boat to friends house and dropped it off. Drove away wishing I could put ice skates on it and a big prop!

Oh well, I have 5 months to save money up for repairing props.

I also left an anchor in the ocean this season (last trip), and I've got quite a few "winter" boat projects as well.

I guess I should feel lucky, all I have to do is redo the bottom paint......I was going to do it tomorrow but 1-2' seas and 5-mph wind is tempting me to one more final trip of the season

Van,
Definately broke all four motor mounts on the starboard side. Jury is still out on whether the shaft is bent. Wiped out the cutlass bearing, have to see whether the strut is O.K. Looks the prop came through fine. I certainly hope the insurance doesn't give me a hard time, the cost to fix is going to waaay over my $1,100 deductable.

I guess the only good thing is it was at the end of the season, not the beginning....but its still not good.

Hope it works out OK, maybe some covered repairs done yourself will help cover some of the deductable.

(thats what I did!! Shhhhh)

We'll have to see what happens, talking to the insurance company right now. Self repairs would have to be very minor/easy/quick as the boat is over in Montauk and I'm not going to camp out over there during the winter just to work on the boat.

I finally hauled last week, and removed cleaned and stored all the crap. I am having some minor work done on the engines at the moment and while they are in there I will have them winterized and shrink wrap the whole thing. I plan to keep it on the side of my house this year (see how much complaining I hear). I love having the boat just a few steps from the shop esp. in the spring.

I did enough boating and fishing this season so I am ready for the winter...come feb I will be itching for the herring to show and thinking about new gear. I have more winter projects to tackle that is would take 5 winters to complete if I worked full time on them. So I will not be board. The ski's are in the shop being tuned, reels have been sent away to be repaired and my bud just dropped off 65# of venison...winter must be close by.

I (we) have been looking around at bigger boats

as well as considering re-poweing options for the CC

. I (we) have looked at a couple of big boats in the 42-45' range (used of course). The family really wants a big boat to "go away" on. I still will keep a little CC boat to fish on. *IF* we get a big boat I will probably be a trawler type. My biggest problem is where to keep it. It is a pain in the butt getting a mooring here no less a slip. I have a couple leads though.
