Something new

Here' a proto that I have been working on. Loosely based on a Cordell "Boy Howdy". I'll call it the "Surf Howdy".
It's 5.5" long and weighs around 1.5oz., and casts like a bullet. I tail weighted it and it sits vertical in the water with the nose just past the eyes out of the water. When you twitch it, it jumps out of the water and has some wild movement.

That looks good enough to eat!

I made one a few months ago-a little fatter (danny blank cut down) but it cast nice and walks pretty good. even had the ultimate compliment paid by a bass my second time using it. gonna refine it over the winter.

Is it good, or is it Sofa King good?

A chef would call it "layering of flavors" to achieve the final results that are nothing short of Perfection. You never stop amazing me with your airbrush skills.

Thanks all for the comps
The Cotton Cordell "Boy Howdy" was the inspiration for the "Surf Howdy"
The Boy Howdy was/ is one of the hottest plugs for Stripers and Hybrids in the mid-south/south. Had some awesome days fishing it this year down in Tennessee, so I thought I would make a bigger version with yellow cedar and thru-wire for the bigger freshwater Stripers and the salty ones that lurk off the beaches and jetties in the north-east.
Note in the picture below, the lead ball just above the tail hook. On mine the weight is inside the tail.
