What kind are the best ones?
I know polarized ones work best.
Gonna get some after christmas.
What do you guys recommend?

Had some Costa Del Mar's until I lost them 2 months ago - were under $100 and pretty sweet.

I had sent off some letters to some manufacturers to do a test

but have had only limited response... Might need to call someone I know at Maui Jim's

I wear Native's, they have great brown lenses and are around 75 beans or so at West Marine

I had a pair of Polaroid that I got for 20 bucks at CVS they seemed to work well. I lost them in the surf this summer and bought another pair that were not polarized and I regret it. You cannot see into the water as good.

Depends.

If you lose them often or tend to sit on them by accident, the best are Flying Fishermen for under $20. Grey or amber, glass lenses. Cheesy frames but again <$20.

If you take care of your glasses, Ocean Waves for about $150. I like the backwater green lenses.

Hobies are good too for around $100 but they're getting hard to find.

i have had hobies and liked them but are certainly getting hard to find but i like maui jim's the best. they are a little pricey but if you take care of them they are worth it in my opinion. i find revo's good but way over priced.

You can get the maui jims in perscription as well. That is what I used this season. The are pretty expensive though. I really want to get another of less expensive ones that still work well as I do tend to really beat on them.

I use flying fishermans amber for shallow and grey for deeper but both work . polorized is the only way to go ! I have gotten mine for like 12.00 to 14 . M&Ds has them . they last along time and if they scratch , break or get lost who cares cause they are cheap . I have to have a few pair on hand so I dont forget them .

I own Maui Jim's and they are awesome. I also have a NEW pair of Cacoons that fit over my reg glasses...awesome Hey now I can see and fish,,,,now if I could get this catching thing down

I agree, polarized is the way to go...

However they do make it more difficult to see an lcd screen (ie. a chartplotter during the day)

RickI used to love the Bolle Piraja model.
I've had two pairs...Broke one and left on at Rocko's house.
Supposedly Rocko's never seen them again.

Polorized lenses are best when made out of glass because of the polorizing process. They take a lens slice it in half rotate one side 180 deg and reglu. I hava never realy seen a difference between plastic and glass. Mine are prescription and glass ( only way I can get them), I have used the cheapy plastic ones at cvs and about the same only diff is at certain times of day. If questioning wether or not a pair are polorized look at a LCD on a gas pump or something like that it should either become invisible or just rainbow same affect on auto glass you will see the tempering spots. It pays to have a brother who is a lab manager at Len's Crafter's.

I have a pair of Ray Ban(Oakley wraparound style) frames with prescription polarized blue mirror lenses that I wouldn't trade for the world! It really is amazing when you standing on a Jetty and say look at all the bait and the people around you are like
"What the Heck are you talking about"!!

Hey Macey!! And I quote!! " Did my glasses go over the side with your rod?"

" No there on your head"!!!!

Ocean Wave makes a great pair of polarized glasses. The lens are made in layers, so that the polarized, UV, and coler layers are in the center with protective layers on the outside. My last pair lasted 4 years and the only reson I got new ones was because my Rx changed. These glasses can take a beating.

Flying Fishermen or Mad Marlin, both polarized and under $20.00,MM I think I got from B.P.S. (BASS PRO SHOPS) BOTH COME IN EITHER AMBER OR BLACK LENS, i LIKE THE AMBER FOR FIRST LIGHT AND LAST LIGHT,duh, shut off caps, sorry
