Oh Boy! If you are interested in penny stocks that is my forte. 95% of the OTC stocks are scams, but... if you know how to play them and can sit in front of a computer all day you can make some serious money. These stocks are heavily manipulated by the insiders and stock promoters involved in these stock selling schemes. The key is to watch and chart them and wait for the signs of the pump and dump. I did check out WTER but with the minimal volume (it traded 3000 shares @.015, that's $45!!) you would most likely get stuck. Look for companies with high volume and sharp ups and downs. Many stocks have clauses in there financing arrangements that call for a certain minimum floor price of the stock. It's amazing how the price bounces off this number (not really as the financer (I call them penny pimps) usually has a short position to hedge the shares he has been given and "covers his short position as the price nears the "floor". Another good sign is an S-8 filing whereby the company issues shares to consultants (usually family and friends!) and has to promote them to get a good price. The majority of these p+d's usually last 2-3 days with the best time to dump your shares being the morning of the second day around 11:00 AM. Current pumps I'm following are FSTI and CMKI which are both at their peaks (just my guess). Watch them retrace back to their levels of last week. Just remember, gamble only what you can afford to lose, and at the very least, take your original investment off the table ASAP and ride your free shares.

As a financial professional, I can advise you NEVER to buy penny stocks. It's simply bad idea jeans for many of the reasons listed above. The only appropriate allocation towards penny stocks is money you would have otherwise brought to Foxwoods. Any money set aside for retirement, college, and the like should be put into a safer arena. Unless you have a Nasdaq Level II terminal, have no job, and sit in front of it all day, I think you'd be eaten alive by the OTC traders.

WTER

Here's a little story about .........a guy who kept buying shares in a thinly traded otc company. Every time he bought the stock it went up. Finally after "making" a 500% profit with his shrewd investing skills he decided to take some profits. He called his broker and asked if he'd sell half his holdings. His broker replied, "I can't, you were the only one buying the stock!"
From what I read about WTER it is nothing but a shell at this point, with no revenues or marketable product.

All these PR's are protected under the Safe Harbor Act. They are considered forward looking statements. Now here is an old company report I dug up. Keep in mind WTER has only generated 40,000 in revenue in the last 4 years or so. You be the judge whether anything they say will happen............................................ .........During the latter part of 1998 WaterChef embarked on an aggressive multi-tier marketing program to introduce the water cooler product line to the major retailers and mass merchants and to the bottled water industry in the United States.
For the record, it is pointed out that WaterChef already has experience with the large mass merchants with the Company's success in selling and promoting product to the West Coast operations of the Home Depot organization.
In further support of our growth program, WaterChef has mounted an international marketing program for water coolers with particular emphasis being placed on potential customers in the Middle East, Central and South America. Water marketing surveys have shown that the Middle East is the second largest market after the United States and South America is the third largest of the growing markets.
WaterChef's PureSafe Water Station has been designed to provide a local solution to the drinking water needs of small populations. Each system can satisfy the purified water needs of 3,000 to 3,500 people, affordably and efficiently. The WaterChef system is adaptable to a wide range of water-borne threats and is suitable for a wide range of applications. The PureSafe Water Station is designed to be attended during its hours of operation, and has been engineered with an eye toward ease of maintenance and ease of installation. The basic system, complete with backup power supply, will provide U.S. EPA grade drinking water for about $0.035 per gallon.
While the PureSafe Water Station was originally designed to effectively convert "bathing grade" water to potable water quality, the Company has responded to other water problems with system enhancements. In the first enhancement the system has been upgraded to handle brackish water conditions and the presence of heavy concentrations of toxic metals. Most recently WaterChef has incorporated full desalination capabilities into an expanded version of the system.
Additionally, WaterChef has been formally selected by Counterpart International based in Washington, D.C., to provide the PureSafe Water Station for the low-cost housing development Counterpart will build in Negros Occidental, the Philippines. Construction was scheduled to start later in 2000. WaterChef has also entered into a marketing agreement with another group to market systems directly to agencies of the Philippine Government.
WaterChef, in 1999, commenced active negotiations to provide multiple systems for use in the Middle East, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Thailand and Vietnam.
In second quarter 2000 WaterChef was notified that the PureSafe Water Station had been selected by the International Red Cross for deployment in Mozambique as part of the relief effort.
With the business captured recently, the positive response to our product offering among our potential customer base, and the positive impact of our new products, WaterChef projects domestic revenues of over $3,000,000 in 2001 growing to over $15,000,000 by 2004.

0.018----------This is the closing price yesterday
0.0219----------the closing price today
+0.0040 (+22.22%)------the gain between yesterdays close and todays close. Up .004, which is a 22% gain based on yesterdays closing price
Volume: 111,000 ----- amount of shares traded today
The meaning--- absolutely nothing! If you multiply .02 (the average price the shares traded at today) by 111000, only about $2220 changed hands today. My guess is one person decided to average down a bit today and bought, driving the price up.

Sorry. I don't know you personally and I probably should not have said that. You are probably a great guy and fisherman.
I just don't trust wall street brokers anymore. (The Godfather handle does not insprire a lot of "honesty" )

It's all good. A lot of brokers give the business a bad name. However, I'm a complex strategy, plannning, and mortgage guy. I don't handle the actual brokerage issues, and I agree that those that do are by and large what you describe. I do work in a top team at a street firm, but you'd never know it. Commission hungry sharks disgust me too.

Is McDonalds a good deal @ <$14? It has history, volume, a strong list of mutual funds that own them and institional investors, since 1982 it's split 7 times and I had a Big Mac last night and that's a mighty tastey burger.
What is wrong with this company?

Remember- You only get rich selling stocks. Holding penny stocks long term is financial suicide. I've been watching WTER since you posted about it and it has been bouncing btween .02 and .04 fairly regularly. The problem is you can't actually buy and sell at these prices.

Read the SEC filings WTER filed last week. Your little stake in the company is about to be cut in half! But..... There is a shareholder meeting this month in NY. A ton of new shares are about to change hands. Shareholder meetings and pumps usually go hand in hand. Keep your good eye open and finger on the trigger!
