Tourney/Saturday

Well, we are three days away and weather is looking like it will cooperate for a change. Are we still looking at 4 PM at Scusset Beach? Any particular area in the lot?

I'm still trying to arrange time off for good behavior, or at least permission for an all nighter. Can someone post directions to this beach? I'd like to come down for the cookout anyway, just to hang for a while if I can't fish...although I'm still hopeful.

Take Route 3 south to the Sagamore Rotary. Go 3/4 of the way around the rotary and then bear right near the gas station. Follow that road and it takes you right into the park.

Looking forward to it. I would suggest we locate down the very end maybe just to the right side of the bath houses.

Just to clarify Steve's directions , as you go around the rotary , there's a road after friendly's (that's not it) then a road after the gas station (you can see a McDonalds down there) that's the one. just drive right down into the park and keep going all the way to the end. You can't go any further. There you'll see the bath houses for Scusset beach.
I'm guessing that the drinking of alchoholic beverages is prohibited in the park.

I'm in, got the green light, do I need to bring anything? Is this bring what you want to eat sort of deal. Got to make some calls now and line up my eels for tomorrow, but that shouldn't be any big deal.

Looking forward to it, hope the fish are too .

I'll be bringing the grille, utensils, paper plates, ketchup, mustard, butter and corn if I can get some, 2 card tables and some chairs. I think there are picnic benches there. But if you want dogs and burgers , I will bring extras ok?

How about if someone brings the rolls and buns?

Everyone should bring what they need want to drink (such as sodas :P ) Alcohol is probably not allowed there and personally, I ain't drinkin' anything but water...

I have 24 burgers + 24 Nathan's long dogs + rolls+cheese slices... My wife is making up potato salad and I have plenty of katch-must-picks-relish, plate, utensiles...

Slipknot, if you can bring the grilles, we're all set other than any side dishes anyone wants to bring... Do you need charcoal and lighter fluid?? And should I bring another grille??

My cell# is 617-680-2798 if anyone needs to reach me...

Anything else we need?

Okay, seriously now, I'll bring some radishes, spinach and lettuce from my garden for the burgers. I wish I could say I'd bring fresh garden tomatoes, but they are about a month and a half to two months off. If i think of anything else, I'll throw it in the cooler...

My grille is pretty large but if you want I have another, there's room in the van I'm sure. I picked up 2 lbs. of cole slaw ,( no corn).

Steve I have leftover striped bass from last night vaccum sealed up, Do you want me to bring it along? Let me know cause if no one will eat it I'll leave it home. About 2-3 servings worth.

Hey Saltheart, are you bringing the DESSERT????
What are we having? Is it a surprise? Oh and thanks for your offer for help with the Conv. reel and spectron, I'll be bringing it.

Since folks can't get corn, I'll put myself on corn patrol tomorrow, since there are a couple good native butter/sugar corn stands near me. How many dozen ears, figure what 4 dozen, hard telling not knowing how many are coming.

I've got a couple lobster pots, I'll throw those in, along with some butter and salt. That time of day is the bridge traffic going to be a nightmare? Would I be better off going down 3 or should I go down RT58 to Wareham and then over to the Sagamore rotary? What do you veterans of the cape traffic (Slipknot) say?

Anyone meeting tonight? If so: where and when??

I'm bringing tourney slips with me but if anyone wants to print them out: http://striped-bass.com/tourneyslips.shtml

Slip - should I bring charcoal & LF ?? One grille should be enough if it's pretty large. My grille won't fit in my cooler rack, shucks darn...

GS - four dozen corn may a bit much but I'm figuring about 20+ people for this first leg...

...and I only have 20 nathan's supreme dogs left, about an hour ago, four of them evaded my best efforts and wound up on the grille already

No charcoal needed John, gas and it's all filled up. And I'll bring another grille to cook the corn.

John, I just got a call from Chris L, he is staying at Shawmee campground and will either be at the herring run cribbin area or the east end. He has his three wheeler and drives a green toyota with a cap.
