Not Plug related.. Wood finish ???

Hey all you woodworking pro's...
I'm refinishing the wooden seats in my 13' whaler... The previous owner had put some polyurethane on it, and it all peeled and went to Sheitte... Got it sanded down to bare wood... the wood was maple but has weathered to a nice driftwood color.. was thinking of staining it a similar shade, then sealing it with sikkens or something similar... thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Bryan

Stain with whatever you want then varnish with a product called Epifanes. It is not cheap, but the finest varnish I've ever used in my life. Make sure you follow the directions though, because it needs to be thinned significantly. It goes on like water, no drag, and smooths out beautifully. Durability is outstanding.
