Boy, Goose ya really know how to hurt a guy - what year are they? That was one of my all time favorite speakers - never had 'em but my friends did and they are outstanding. Great price, too -

I'd be interested but Mrs Crafty is after me to get rid of my 4' high JBL monitors - a pair of 501's would not ...uhhh...go over real well right now

I bought them in Okinawa Japan in 90'. That place has stereo and electronics that US will never see in retail stores. I sat in sound rooms and listened to many speakers before going with these. IMO... these sound better then 901's they don't have the unlimited power that 901's have but for home entertainment these direct reflects rock. There is one lite stain on the cloth and a couple of small nicks but other then that these speakers fill the room %%%%

Gotta agree with ya there Goose - the 901's never held a candle to the 501's.

Man, I got some old vinyl I'd love to run thru those at 100 watts a side...
