Stren Braid

I am going to respool my reels this weekend and I saw the new stren braid, I chickened out and bought the ever-faithful power pro, does anyone have any experience with the stren or should i stick to the power pro

I'll let you know in a few weeks, I just respooled a Penn 4400 with it. I figured I would give braid one last shot after being completely dissapointed with power pro and fireline, in smaller reels.

you might be disapointed again the penns were never designed to hold Braid., No Ball Bearing line Roller, and prehistoric spool design.
If you have a problem it's not the braid is the reel.

THanks Mike thats good to know. I love braid for ground fish, but last year on a penn 5500, a couple of days were ended early due to braid tangles from hell.

Interesting note mickecc

My brother and I use PP30 & 50 on quite a few Penn reels and have never had a problem. 4500 - 7500 and a couple of 704z.

What specific problems are you talking about?

No ball bearing means more line twist and that can cause a lot of problems with braid.
