Hey, I can just picture them now...

IN MY TACKLE BUNKER

converting to what?? If resizeing what program do you have?? Photo shop is easy just open pic with PS and then hit Image at top. Hit resize and then what size you want, hit save you are done!
I do all mine 500 X 500 it will choose the right size for you if you put 500 it will choose the right height or width depending were you put the 500.

doh?

this computer (dell) has their program and another jasc.

and neither are user friendly.. or in my case idiot proof..

i work with dsl for a living but i have no clue on how these foolish

computer programs work..

its ok to make fun of me.. my fiance has been all evening..

the picture files are in bitmap format.. and are huge..

the site here requires jpeg format and small

my problem lies where i can't convert from one format

to the other and shrink the size..

thanks for your patience

I have a Dell also. Is it MGI studio you are using??

Open it and choose edit & Enhance photos, then find the pic you want in your puter. when open go to Image at top and hit resize, then choose 640 X 480 that will be fine for internet view. Make sure the check mark is NOT in the stretch to fit new size . hit save your done.

Crash - If you're usin' Photoshop:

1. Open the bitmap image
2. Go to File>Save As
3. In the Save As screen, choose JPEG as file type
4. Rename file if you wanna keep the bitmap, or just hit save and it'll ask ya if you want to overwrite the existing file. Click yes or OK
5. Go to Image>Resize
6.Change pixel size to 500 the other will change automatically as macojoe said
7. Go to File>Save As
8. Name the file something different if you wanna save the
bitmap - the JPEG is now 500x500
9. Upload da images from that JPEG so we can see 'em.
10. Do it tonite - ya got us all lathered up.

Lightbulb

Here's an easy way to convert from bitmap to jpeg.

OPen the bitmap in software called Paint. Its on all computers that are running any microsoft operating system. You can find it by going to start --> Programs ---> Accessories. Just click on paint.

After opening paint software, open the bitmap file you want to convert.

Once the bitmap file is opened click file---> then "save as"

When the save as box appears. On the bottom is a box that says "Save as type" click in the box that says "24 bit Bitmap (*.bmp, *.dib) select jpeg file interchange format.... and then save the file.

Yup its that easy.

Here's a picture for you to see.
