Need opinions
What do you guys think of this? Wife picked out the colors as you can tell. This is my first attemt at a Chevron. I put the diamond to try and break up the purple a little? Does it look good, bad, horrible or what. Be honest, I can take it.

nice work bud, very clean and even looking I like your colors in the cheveron.
I personely don't like the underwrap purple, IMO black or metellics make for nice underwraps. In the chevron useing alot of black and silver/gold metellics realy high lites your work and brings out color.
Being that your chevron spacing are far apart what you could do if you haven't finished it yet is.....lay gold metellic of about 3-5 threads depending what you like, below the first thread you layed in the chevron (I think you went from bottem to top.) then add 1 of black. This will dress up the chevron and take a little bit more away from the purple. Keep up it Dude!!!

Thanx Goose, no I'm not finished, that's why I figured I'd get opinions from the pro's. I agree with you on the under wrap but I figured I'd try it. I'm going to try your suggestion. I'll post it again when I'm done. Thanx for being honest.

If you do try that know that the diamond will not be on center the way that it is now. You could add a few threads to the top of the cheveron first then do it.
P.S. The pro's don't post much.

What if I get rid of the diamond and try maybe a reverse chevron or something in the spaces? I need to fill in the spaces and I'm not crazy about the diamond I did.

Nice job! Try making the diamond bigger - same size as the chevron.
As far as the u/wrap color if you are still not happy with it when your done you will just have to make another

I like purple when done with Teal but it goes with just about anything- found chevrons look better on 1/2 inch spacing-4 or 8 axis but have to be done at same time so they all tie together.I agree just make diamond bigger or reverse the chevrons.colors look Ok and thier straight. Also easier to wrap and move around if you do with multiple thread passes.(wrap with like 2 or 4 threads at a time on each pass.)I can do with like 12 when filling in closed wrap but more then that and I get $#@- up.I know a guy that can do in passes of 20 but I cant get over the 12.
