Which "Nifty-Fifty Club" are you guys talking about?
I wore a patch on my fishing jacket for a few years back in the sixties. I think it was R. J. Schaeffer Striped Bass Tourney or Ashaway Line. I just can't remember. I also had the Gold Seal on the top of it that said "Super Sixty Class".
Salt Water Sportsman Magazine used to give out a free one year subscription to anyone presenting a certified fifty or better Striped Bass catch.
Those were the days!

I was asking about The Nifty Fifty Club from long ago? Is it still in exestance? I think it had something to do with the Scheafer Bass Tourney and I remember getting a spool of Ashaway fishing line and a subscription to Salt Water Sportsman.
I would sure like to look at their records over the years. There has to be others that remember the Scheafer Derby's of years ago???
Guys from Deleware and other far away places, like Connecticut used to come to Cuttyhunk just to build up the point score for their home clubs.
Eben, did I read you had kin on Cuttyhunk? Something about somebody whittling Striped Bass? Who was that? Refresh my memory, or maybe it was before or after my death!

Nor-easter, I had to chuckle on the free year's subscription to Salt Water Sportsmen for catching a Fifty in the "good old days"...........
anyone who filled out a card at the RISSA show a few weeks back is getting a free year's subscription to Salt Water Sportsmen

Yes and no... My grandparents had very good friends who had a summer home on cuttyhunk and when I was a wee lad I'd sail over there on the family boat and spend some time running wild on the island. Steve Baldwin was his name.

Im just hoping some of that good karma and my move closer to the water brings me a 50! If i do happen upon a 50, shes going back in the water to make 1000s of potential 50's down the road for all of us!

Nope - name's StriperBubba. You may have seen him, Suburban with Spinners & Fuzzy Dash, a gold Ocean City Reel hanging from braid around the neck, tossin' 40s back to the theme music of Shaft
