Wow, coming from someone who guides, sells plugs and speaks about fishing the Cape, I would think you'd be happy that he wants to fish the Cape.Guess I just don't understand. johnny "tRB"

Don't mind BM, he just thinks he rules the Cape beaches and every "secret spot" is his.

I think the permits should only be limited to those who know flip or and.

Problem solved.

BM, you are a hypocrite! Your buddy Flap tells everyone in the April Edition of OTW "If you plan to run the beach in your 4-wheel drive, plan to get your stickers early so as to not miss out as quotas dwindle" This was printed and distributed BEFORE April 10th and yet you make no mention of the Magazine's influence..... I suppose that should be expected.

Take some air out of those tires.

Jay R, I did that because anyone with half a brain and a calender would have known by looking at the month of April and knowing that April tenth fell on a Saturday on Easter Weekend and except for Massachusetts just about every other state between NJ and Maine had this past week off from school it was going to be a madhouse. And also from the sellout dates that were easily accesible by phone call to the Seashore HQ that last year they sold out in six days even with the Thursday start in 2003. The ineternet helped the madness, so did the radio, TV and newspapers. If I am to be trusted by my readers and as you may also be aware that my reports have to be submitted no later than six weeks in advance of the publishing date, I have to forecast, to my best ability, by experience and evaluation of the data on hand any dilemma I can foresee. This was one problem that a glass eye in a dog's ass could see coming!

Why even try.........

I could not agree with you more... I have no issue with any of the outlets for information. What I took exception to was the response to MY AFTER THE FACT POST. All these outlets came into play and it was the main reason I was there at 5:0 pm Friday and why I got in line at 2:00 am. When I left at 7:30, permit in hand, the roads were backed up to Rt 6. My post that afternoon was of no consequence.

To post that the place was a mad house after it happened and everyone and their brother phoned everyone they knew, made NO difference. It was done.

The response my post received and the one that questioned the response was disingenuous and hypocritical.

Flap, I actually enjoy your articles. I understand that it is a means of income to you and that credibility is of the utmost importance. I can also relate to the threat you found on your vehicle last year. I am just surprised your silence now as compared to then. All these innuendos being passed my way. What say you now???

You know, it's not like I am playing "Where's Waldo" in a daily blog starring you know who..... I made a small post about a mess at a National Park. You made references to places about last years fishing considering specific spots. Is one so much worse than the other? Why are we not talking about burning spots and what you wrote about in this same April issue? About last springs fishing. Are people not reading that and planning on visiting those same beaches within the next few weeks? Of course they are!

To have so much trouble regarding a "post event" thread and no word mentioned about burning spots in OTW shows a great disparity. We are in the "age of information" and we all better get over it...

I am not one to be intimidated. Not one to hide and cower either. I stand up for what I believe in and will not back down to a threat. I'll be on Race point beach all summer if all goes as planned. Stop in for a coffee or ANYTHING else any of you have in mind. I welcome the visits.

And in closing, a word of thanks is in order as well. That article in the April issue influenced my departure time considerably. Thanks! I would have only headed up there on Saturday morning myself if not for your reminder.

BTW... they sold out in 16 days last year, not 6.

Take some air out of those tires.

there are many posts going around that aint good
I earn my spots and work very hard at researching them ,been at this most my life and still learning.
But it does sting when You put a few Years into a place and then see it smoked.
as far as pics of bass as said in another thred from 2 or 3 years ago.
every night with pics, it was to build My Guide service up.
did You see any last year , nope cept for maybe in a lure contest and a few.
i think I will Kill the name Bassmaster and go with My real name
politics on the sand here are nothing You know about
I earn My right to do what I got to do here.
Yes it is fact locals like the place to them self thats fact and Im in there with that.
But when othwers show respect they get it back.
no one likes being pummeld by
Guys mugging You in the middle of the night.
and alot of people here are sick of it.
its the nature of the beast no matter where You live
Im all done now

Legend -and I gave you that name someplace else last year , out of respect of the hard work you put into surf-casting and the fact you were known as a good guy by people from the Cape who I hold in high regard for their contributions to our sport and access- KEEP YOUR NAME...BASSMASTER. So you did a little self-promotion when you were building your guide service. So what? Everyone is selling or buying something someplace.
