Fished the AM outgoing tide. Caught maybe a dozen or so schoolies. Leighton hauled in the catch of theday - a 32" 11.4lb beauty. Mike had a bigger fish on, but thanks to some 3 year old mono, that one never made it to the Boga Grip.
Used clams on the bottom - full 8 oz of weight to get the bait down. Best hits were all in the mouth - right at the 1st rip where the depth goes from about 20' to about 12'. You know where - right were the huge swells are!
Went out for some macks and then lived lined for a while, but by then, the tide was turning and there were too many other boats. Decided to leave, but before we did, we got boarded by the Coast Guard for a random check.
They were extremely polite and professional. Took 5 minutes to check my registration and safety devices. Gave me the "gold slip" so that in the future, when asked when the last time I was boarded, they told me to wave the "gold slip"
C ya out there
got fish?
