Time is at a premium, where to fish?

So, my wife and daughter are leaving for Florida for a week and I've got some ME time, so I'm goin' fishin'!

They are leaving from TF Green at noon Saturday May 29th, and I'm thinking the west end of the ditch might be a good bet, high tide at the RR Bridge for that day is 1746pm (5:46pm?). What do ya'll think? Any other suggestions for Mass fishing? I live in Easton MA

Thanks and tight lines to y'all

Mark

Fish are in all over...where depends on what you like to do...I say go to your favorite and most informed locations and fish your favorite technique

Why spend such precious time larning a new spot when you have this opportunity.

oops, I replied to the wrong quote... you asked about west and whatever islands, I've not fished them

Howdy neighbor! Nope, I'm just rediscovering south shore and ditch fishing, pluggin' & soaking bait... I've just moved to Easton last July after spending the last 20 years living in Metro Boston and fly fishing the Harbor and Islands... I so enjoy fly fishing, but It's nice to kick back and relax from time to time and not have to worry about your perfect loop, snagging your cheek with a clouser...

I'd be happy to hook-up with anyone who's fishing Memorial weekend... I'm an accomplished angler who has a few surf rods, steelhead rod and 8wt fly rig!

... as I said, tough to get out these days with a 4 year old little girl who has too much energy for fishing!!!!

Thanks guys, very kind of you... I've never fished the west end so this will be an interesting adventure! If anyone has any tips on locations for west end fishing... plugging-soaking bait-fly fishing, I'd truely appreciate it... and I'd be happy to recipricate with some woodlands 4 wheel drive lessons!

I heard they just installed one of those deli-style ticket dispensers for casting orders. "#22!", "#22!" "You're next to cast!"

Go to the railroad bridge at buzzards bay, theres a big parking lot right there, with your rod and a bunch of 4 ounce white jigs and white pork rinds. Put the jig on your rod and start casting. Walk all the way to the Bourne bridge, casting as far out as you can, lettting the jig hit the bottom before retrieving, in a jigging fasion. You will end up loosing a couple of jigs on the bottom, but could also hook a nice one. Good luck.

Why, it's at Keene St, nachally

Heading west on the highway along the Capeside of the Canal, bear right where the road forks just before the Bourne Bridge. Look for a street sign that reads (duh) Keene St on your right. Just ignore all of the No Parking signs, Bourne PD is just joking about that. If there are too many other people ignoring the No Parking signs, you could try parking in someone's driveway if they're not home.

Pole #225 is another good spot, but since the Corps placed a line of boulders across the parking area (due to the chunka bunka dunkas tossing their old bait and emptying their baitwells there) you'd have to hoof it in from Halfway Gate.

Then there's the Jungle, but the Corps now gates the access road. Gotta hoof it in there, too.

You could try Old Bridge Road---again, just ignore all of the No Parking signs.

See, there really isn't a problem when you post specific spots on the internet

Just FYI---all of these restrictions predated the internet. They resulted from tackle shop blabber and a couple of guides advertising these spots. The internet increases the problem by a factor of 100.

I yoused to hold my frozen pogies up ta da radartower to microwave them thawed again

FlyFish - welcome to S-B... Sadly, we are in the middle of a Spot - No Spot debate. We're trying (and likely failing) to find the right balance between catching fish for our fellow angler or just blowing up access in the process. Seriously, we are trying to kep spot specifics offline as too many people at one spot is a bad thing...

Maybe you could make a "sticky" about "popular" places to fish (beaches, jettys, canal, breachways). That way, when someone that hasn't fished before, or someone that is looking for a different place to fish at, is looking for a spot, they could refer to the places mentioned in the "sticky" report. Then, after a couple or three hundred "spots" are posted, you won't have to worry about someone "burning" a spot, just direct them to the "sticky" that has all the "spots" posted.

Question

If time is *really* at a premium

1) Hire a guide

or

2) Make time to do your homework.

Striprman, why don't you take a week off or something, you're almost becoming a P.I.A.

You should change your name too so nobody confuses you with Striperman. I Dunno, change it to Keene Street or West End or PostPuker or something...
