in the PROJO today, Saudi is asking OPEC to up production, won't make it to the streets for 45 days or so.

I predict the price won't drop significantly till after the election. Many of the oil producing nations want Bush out for obvious reasons. They know Americans are STUPID and BELIEVE that the president controls the oil price because of his ties to the oil industry. WeeWee gave us a good macroeconomics class on why gas is up............................

I dont know, but I think he's a better choice than Bush.
Unless you are a multi-millionare, Bush is screwing you one way and then telling you how he saved you 500 bucks on your taxes.

I think we need a new political system, as I see no clear choice in any of these elections...

Nope, gas prices will stay high - along with everything else - until George II gets flushed.

Keep an eye on yer wallet - President Cheney and Geo. II are gonna see to it that their boys rob, pillage and plunder until they're out of office.

And to think Wild Bill got investigated for an afternoon hummer - ..... this administration should be indicted in it's entirety for the crap they've done.

Oil prices should drop after the tail-end of the summer driving season. This is seasonal demand adjustment. Not Bush pulling purse strings.

You cynics who think oil prices are tied to Bush and his so-called cronies have to consider...

1) Supplies have been constrained b/c Iraq hasn't been at full capacity

2) Demand is going up exponentially in China and India.

Supply goes down, demand goes up, so equilibrium prices go up.

One more thing.

And I can tell you from the point of view of someone who's been an industry observer.

Oil exploration and production (and all the adjunct activities that go with it) is a FEAST OR FAMINE business. It's almost as bad as high-tech companies.

In other words, it's cyclical.

I can remember not too long ago (mid 1990's) when the oil companies WEREN'T making money and were laying people off by the truckload.

I am cynical after the Enron scandal, top secret sessions in the oval office, everyone in the whitehouse has ties to oil... shoot, Condalisa Rise has an oil tanker named after her fir cripes sakes.

Everyone knows in time of crisis oil prices rise so I just have to wonder if we invaded Iraq just to prices would go up...

I dunno, maybe I'm way off.. anyway I'd rather come here to talk about fishing not polotics
