Weekend Plans
I'd like to get once this weekend and unload some stress - Saltheart maybe tonight - I could use a little excursion. What I was afraid would happen, happened...
Other than that - veg a little...
So what's happening?

I hope to make a run out to Newport area and drag a tube-n-worm out there. Rumors have some very large bass being caught out there this week. Weather looks like there might be rough seas though!!!!
Note: if you are after bluefish and have a boat there have been very large schools of them working the P.J. Lighthouse area, you can't miss them as they are tearing up bait on the surface!

First weekend of the year that I will have to answer to no one!!! Kids are with ex-wife for her bday, ex-girl (oops, did I say that?) is off to Vermont with GFs, and we are going our separate ways anyway.
So assuming the Yamaha is running, you can find me on the waters of the north shore, in a 23' Wellcraft cc "New Priorities". Usually don't leave squawker on, but will be on 16 when it is.
(Don't think a new relationship is on the priority list until after the fall migration anyway....)
Hook 'em high!

Good point... think my wife will buy that we don't need to maintain a relationship until after the fall run? Actually, we have no social life anyway, so fishing doesn't interfere with anything.
Sling some eels tonight... and get the boat out tomorrow at all costs... or else, I'm getting rid of it. I think I'll take sunday off and sleep in, maybe take my daughter fishing.
I don't remember if I posted it, but I took my daughter fishing for the first time two weeks ago. I dug up some worms and took her over to a local pond. She caught 6 sunfish, I caught one (she was playing in the water and didn't want to take the rod. Hey, she's not even 4 yet). We threw some rocks, splashed around... We had a great time and she's been bugging me to go back. It was almost as cool as the 30lber... almost.

I'll be at the inlaws all weekend so there won't be any fishing for me. In preparation for that, I went out last night with eels and circle hooks, and had some fun. I landed one fish but had three takes. In my amateur-ish excitement, I didn't wait long enough and "set" the hook on the first two fish. I got it right the third time. The hook landed right in the upper lip. It was just about 28" but fatter than other fish I've had at that length.
SM - that sounds like a good time you had with your daughter. Hopefully by next fall, I can do the same.
Chris, Sorry to hear about your wife's job, I hope it all works out for you.
Carl
