Jul'S I finally got fish on the teasers I bought months ago, I did the opposite of the norm, Iwent upriver last night, found them in the same places that they are in early June / Took about a hour to get down what they wanted, did well ,and broke in the teaser, finally lost it / no replacement, because they are all in that surf bag with the other $300 worth of plugs I bought at the show//
70 degree water temp and the fish are still in the rocks, plenty of fish last night but had to leave because it was dark and I was bouncing off the rocks [nothing new] Time to go ,its just about the right time to head out, for tonights adventure/ Thanks again//later

Clammer, glad you finally hooked up on them. We are coming into that time of year when the fish start feeding on the top again. Those teasers will work really well now and in the spring or at night time the black one works really good. Glad to hear you are getting out there. How are things?

We had Jenn and her husband out on the boat on Sunday, we had a ball with a big school of fish on top, had alot of doubles and some good size schoolies, with some keepers in the mix. In the afternoon we went outside to look for some bigger bass and maybe some blues, but it just didn't produce. But was great company and we had a great time!!! I love the spring and fall fishing, it doesn't get any better than the fall when the big gals are headin south.

Hey Fisherwoman,

I saw a nice size flock of birds working a school of fish off Wollaston on monday. I'm gonna launch out of Weymouth or Hingham this weekend or maybe a day next week, any suggestions of areas to try?

We've got to hook up and fish sometime soon, 'cause I was hopin' to grab a few flies for the fall run. Especially before my trip to Nantucket which is around the time you hit the Vineyard.

Let me know what's up with you guys over the next couple weeks...

Greg whats your setup like on your boat? You got a small aluminum don't you? I have a 16' that I use duck hunting, it's a princecraft v-hull. It has a 30hp Mariner and a 27lb thrust trolling motor. Any suggestions on what to get so I can use it for stripers. I have no electronics or any thing, and would probably need some rods too.

Let me start by saying that I've only had the boat out once this year. I ain't no ol' salt.

I have a 16' aluminum with a modified V-hull, with an 18hp merc. I took off my bow mount trolling motor and just have a minn kota rip-tide 40lb. thrust on the stern. My bow mount is an all-terrain 48lb. thrust, but its not a saltwater model. I'll throw that back on for my annual week in Ontario.

You'll definitely want to pick your times and spots carefully with a small boat. I was out on BillC's 22-24' walkaround a few years ago and we were getting tossed around in the harbor due to the heavy boat traffic. It will also be a pretty wet ride.

But there are alot of fish in the rivers and bays that can be had...

The only things I would add to your setup are a depth finder... and a vhs radio. You'll definitely want those two things. You really want to keep a handle on the depth you're running and if you get in trouble, obviously, a radio would be handy.

Other than that, you may want to confer with some others. I've been around boats my whole life, but within the friendly confines of lakes and rivers. I don't know the harbor well, nor do I have alot of experience in saltwater. Got Stripers fished out of a 17' aluminum for like 15 years. He fishes the harbor and the south shore and would probably be a good guy to chat with.

As for rods, I bought a few 7'-7 1/2' graphite rods with a med-heavy action which can handle schoolies to smaller keepers with no problem. I also have a heavy action rod that I could toss eels or live line bait or whatever. I don't think tree trunk boat rods are necessary... and Rods over 8 feet get a little clumsy and cumbersome in a small boat.

Same place John ,but not yet on the beach/also they are small//but again today /up on top ,just about everywhere, I want to fish eels but can;t with little blues so thick//?? later
