Question Shorefishing Lures

What are some good lures to fish off shore? And what is best for striper, Poppers, Crankbaits, Jerkbaits? I fish the local bridge about every day and I need some help on some lure's for striper. I just bagged a small striper the other day, about 15-16 inches on a popper (3 inches or so). I also fish this point, in walking distance. Im still a kid, so I don't have a boat of my own, although I plan on getting a small 12' with a 12hp or so soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You live in West Island?
Get up early (before sunrise) and get on your bike. Ride down to the beach and start plugging. you could walk around the whole island in a couple hours, casting as you go.

Try a 2-3 ounce Atoms striper swiper or a needlefish type, or get some eels.

One thing you can do is throw Bombers or Mambo Minnows at night. It is hard to find bass close to shore in the daytime heat of summer. Nighttime is best (if you're parents are cool with you being out at night on a beach)

Thanks for the replies guys. I made a list of some of the lure's named and will be looking today. I have a lot of Atom lure's because my dad did a photoshoot for their catolouge. I plan on getting a couple of those Bomber's. There is a lot of talk about them on this site and if they work for ya'll maybe they'll work for me.

Striprman - Yep, I live on the Island. Ill be waking up early tomorrow and giving it a whirl. I checked some maps posted in another thread with keeper's marked down. Look's like there's some good places I could fish off shore. I can't wait to get out to the backside and fish places where no one goes.

Bigmike - I usually do most of my striper fishing at night anyways. Although Ill sit there all day with the sun beating down on me and not catch a thing. It's still fun and worth it to me. My parent's don't mind me fishing at night regardless of the hour. I live in a small/safe community where I won't be bothered.

You're in a great location, I've hit decent fish off WI both by beach and boat.

Lures?

Needles
Bombers
Poppers
Rebels
Hand made Swimmers of all types

They all work well around there.

Off of bridges ive had good luck with bucktails, usually dressed up with a big grub or pork strips. Storms shads have become a necessity in my bag since last year, they have caught fish under most conditions. You can also try riggin a red gill teaser a few feet ahead of any of the plugs mentioned, i found they work really good ahead fo a mombo or a dannys swimmer. The mackrel pattern has been deadly so far this year.

Go hit up the shop on the bridge in Popes behind Gear Locker, he's got a ton of danny type wooden swimmers and such (they're kinda on the left behind the counter on the wall).
Prices didn't seem too bad either.

They'll work if they're biting.
