I'm going to throw in a custom plug from my personal stash into this too. My wife and I are not supposed to give blood because we lived in Europe during the Mad Cow gestational period so maybe some extra enticement will be worth a pint (of blood) - speaking of mad cow I think BM lived there too - ...

Jim O - you can add it as a second prize or as an add-on to the first....

Thanks John ,I'll add it as a second prize. And thanks for putting it up as a sticky. Come on Guys it only take 10 mins. to donate and there is no substitute for blood. This is the tough season for blood donations , our goal is 100 units and so far we have 63 signed up .

I just got done running the Blood Drive for our company. Good luck with yours. I know this is one of the most difficult charitanble events to get people to participate in, but be persistent.
As we head into summer, area supplies really drop, so these drives are vitally important. The Red Cross is pretty good about moving things along, but you can also check and get any questions answered and see how the supply in your area is at: www.pleasegiveblood.org
Aside from what you are raffling off, I think the Red Cross has new incentives for donors, too, that you might want to check on and promote when soliciting donors.

Again, good luck.

I hope people can take a few moments out of their day to donate Jim. That's a very thoughtful project for your son
Unfortunately I just gave 2 units of red cells last month otherwise I would be there most definately.

good luck with it.

Success

Here's the final numbers for our blood drive.
85 donors
72 units of blood
Not a tidal wave but twice what we had expected.
Because of the great turnout and so many people saying "Why doesn't this happen more often?" Troop 53 will be holding annual blood drives in June to finish off our scout year.
Now the bad news - no S-B folks showed I realize that it was a late post -my computer died and I had to post from work. So I still have the plugs . I'm turning them over to the scouts for next year, maybe I'll sweeten the pot even more for next year.
