For night fishing IMO color really shouldn't matter....WHY you ask? Because it is a FACT that SB can not see color at night. I focus on contrast and profile more then color. During the day they can see color but their night vision is 90X more sensitive to light....
It is thought that at dusk and dawn (times when the cones and rods in their eyes ar changing duty) that there is a brief time when both are working at the same time and this gives them an advantage when seeking food. Once the sun goes down IMO color don't matter....fish with something that looks realistic and you should be fine.

Yeah, what he said is definitely true. For day time, it seems that yellow, green(ish), white...or anything that mimics sand eel colors seem to work for me.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Lately, olive/white Habs needles

Then black.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Jees I got stop reading posts like this 1st thing in the morning.

The way I 1st read it was the your canteen truck driver (which I immediately assumed was a female) was hawking a homemade tape of herself on her truck. Now THAT would be cool

Then I woke up and realized HE was selling Paris's tape.....DOH!!!!
