If any of you guys are active duty or retired military. The Blues were ballistic at Naval Station Newport today. Low tide has been setting them off.

Also behind my work for about the last week the blues have been blitzing from sunup to sundown. Theyre on all kinds of baby bunker, massive schools, watched for 10 minutes and didnt see the end of one school. We snuck down for a few casts during work and managed to hook 3 and bring one in, in about 5 minutes. I saw some nice pods of bass swim by the rocks too, some of them looked to be 25lb plus. The bass were swimming back and forth , just off the side of the rock the whole time we were down there, didnt see any crash bait though.

I am AD USAF. Send me a PM w/ the info please. Do they let people from other branches on the pier? I know that they are pretty strict about that at the Earle NWS in NJ...only AD Navy, stationed there are allowed out there.

Crafty The only place I fish early AM is bluefishing around Naval Station. Big Blues are fun on light tackle. Caught 4 this morning without even trying.
