last night was the first night at home... what an experience. I was holding him in my arms and let out an enourmous gushing noise from his butt... Diaper cheange #1 was sucessfull.. even though he was crying and thrashing around the whole time
its sinking in that i will now have probably zero eben time for a while until we can get int some sort of rythm of feedings, naps, diapers, etc...
but ohhh he's so cute :

RIJimmy,
Get the book by Dr. Ferber about having kids sleep through the night. It's a miracle worker.

All together now.....AWWWWW,,,,,,aint he cute..
Too early to think/worry about sleep habits, if its a problem in a couple or several of months then its time to figure it out.
Ditto on Dr. Ferber's bood. Richard Ferber MD--Solve your childs sleep problems,,,I still have a copy and its gone around the block a few times..Everyones agrees it works....
Good Luck.

RIJIMMY is your child in daycare?? I'm asking because i know some daycare places will try to make your kid sleep all day to make it easier on them. But when parents get home the kid is ready to rock all night- What were doing now is waking him every 2 hours in the day and making sure he's feeding reguarly. hopefuly he will sleep through at least most of the night... Mrs eben is going to be a stay at home mom for some time, so we dont have to worry about daycare horror stories just yet...
but hey i'm new to this and as i type this he's asleep on my arm

For the first few weeks he was feeding every 3 hours which is normal. Those weeks for both my son and daughter killed me.
Up every 3 hours, by the time you get him fed, tucked in and back to sleep its almost time to feed again.
He's 3 1/2 months now but he usually wakes up around 1:30 or so for a feeding. But....my daughter, now 2, has moved to a bed and keeps coming into our room every few hours. She is now worse that my son.

a little brandy never hurts either. For you, not the kid. Actually my son was fine but my daughter was a living breathing nightmare. She didn't sleep all night till she was about 9 months old.

That would be one crappy daycare.
Get "the Secrets of the Baby Whisper" and your baby will be sleeping through the nights by 5 months.

sleeping thru the night
Hi,
The secret to getting that baby to sleep thru the night is: cerial. That's right: cerial. Now you don't give the that directly, you have to mix it in with the milk/formular, a little at a time. After all, the baby wakes up because he/her is hungy, but cerial will take longer to digest than milk, so the baby sleep longer. Of couse you know all this already - right?

Last night he was up a lot But, we know why... he slept quite a bit durring the day which substansiates what i was saying.... Mrs eben is breast feeding, and some of her friends who have had kids and have breast fed strongly urge her to breast feed durring the day and give him formula at night... the formula will take longer to digest, like the cereal trick...
anyway, i'm still new to this game and am loving every minute of it.. so far I can say that it isnt hardly as difficult as I thought it was going to be.. Mrs Eben and I work together for a living so were always on the teamwork kick.. with little campbell, we split up the work load and things are going smooth as butter....(so far)
tonight i think i'll try to make him a rattle on my lathe
