Sbft Gear, Need Advice On Rod And Reel.

I am about to TRY to catch a small charlie and need to ask all you guys who have done this for a while what you might use for a rod and reel set up, what kind of line works best and what kind of weather turns these babies on. I have fished for albies before and know how bleeping frustrating it can be.Is this even harder to do? Thankyou for your help as I really appreciate the input before I fork over the big dough to buy all this. I think I will go to Goose Hummock. I haven't seen Mike for awhile and the place is starting to look like LLbean. He should carry everything I hope. Thanks again and thanks to the guys who run this website.

If I were jus starting out I'd use a Penn 113H filled with 50 0r 60 pound mono. It'll do the job and you can still use it codfishing.

Anything over 100lbs will run through a 113 in about 7 seconds.
