Breathe
Money, for many, is tight.
Politics talk is high all over.
Religion has been thrown in there too.
Conflict is thrown into our faces at every turn.
Only observation I can make is that the Fishing must be real slow for a lot more people than myself to get so many people so worked up over so little.
Each of you are instructed to go on a solo journey.
Take a break and step outside.
Watch the sun, moon, stars and clouds move through the sky.
Observe as the tide marks its passing along the shore.
Listen to the pulse of the life that surrounds us.
Breath in the air that passes between us all.
When, at last, your mind has cleared of all things and again you become one with your surroundings contemplate this statement:
First there is a mountain.
Then there is no mountain.
Then there is a mountain again.
If you require hints, return later.
I suggest, however that you work it out for yourself first as it will carry greater meaning.

Ya Got me, but I love literary rhetoric. Here goes.
I surmounted the mountain where I could see the sea,
and so thence I went,
Only to find myself standing in the shadow of my own ascent.
Heaven have mercy on us all--Presbyterians and Pagans alike--for we are all somehow dreadfully cracked about the head, and sadly need mending.
There is no steady unretracing progress in this life; we do not advance through fixed gradations, and at the last one pause:--through infancy's unconscious spell, boyhood's thoughtless faith, adolescence' doubt..., then scepticism, then disbelief, resting at last in manhood's pondering repose of If.
You cannot hide the soul

I have found one hand casting long ago... on a beach not yet inhabited by man. Then I died, came back to life, died, came back to life, and now 50 generations later, I am at one with the bass

I sit and write this as I flop down on a chair with a glass of wine after my two hour commute from work in Boston traffic, and all I can think about is fishing.
Do I care about anybody elses politics...NOT AT ALL!
I'm a concerned Republican businesman who thinks our President is effective, yet not that smart!
If it was up to me, I'd vote for Kery right now, just because I don't like Bush...the apple did fall a little far from the tree as far as I'm concerned...I did vote for Sr.
Anyhow, let's get off the topic of stupid American politics and get on the topic of the Greatest American Pastime:
FISHING!!!!!!!
Anyhow, just my two cents.
Later,
Rick

as promised, followup.
Your road at first must appear difficult. Yet still you begin, and as you progress you find that the difficulties are not so impossible. When you have reached your destination you are able to look back and appreciate the road for what it is.
The destination is inconsequential. What really matters is the experience that the journey has afforded you. It is the experience that will remain with you.
First, there is a mountain...
Then, there is no mountain...
Then, there is a mountain again.

I just bought the DVD for the TV show "Kung Fu" with David Carridine. I think I saw this stuff in Episode #3.
I am pretty sure it was Master Po's response to Grasshopper when he asked about his first case of acne.

two lovely mountains, each of which had its own little mountain. and there I was, mounting her mountains, and when I mounted the summit I found succor in an oasis of twin peaks. and to the south, there was a much smaller but no less rugged mountain surrounded by impenetrable forest, which seemingly was by the ocean...was it the salt spray or the fishy je ne sais quois that gave it away?

When I look over my shoulder,
What do you think I see ?
Some other cat looking over
His shoulder at me
