John, I was there looking specifically for them on Friday night and he only had the 1 1/2 oz ones, no 2 oz. If that has changed, I might have to take a trip up from Jersey to buy him out of them.

I sent him an email asking for 6 more. (I'll take whatever he has) fingers crossed.

I never understood the production issues of lure makers and why tackle stores never seem to carry enough plugs. If you go into most stores the shelves are near empty this time a year. I asked "are you going to get any more of the large 7" mega baits?" They generally respond..."Not this year, we don't plan to place any orders until next year." I respond.."but you don't have any left...how can you sell what you don't have" generally they shrug their sholders and I look for express delivery online.

To all tackle store owners, Let me make a suggestion for next year...This WINTER order at least 5X what you sold this year of each color and style (they don't go bad like food) then when the supply gets cut in half, re-order, you should ALWAYS have a full years supply on hand. Money is not an issue, the Fed just cut the lending rate to 2.5%, borrow the money and charge 20 bucks a plug.

This is one reason I order a lot of stuff online, I really want to buy at my local shop, really I do but I was in a place last week and he did not have any 5/0 eel hooks or duolock snaps in the size I needed. Jezzzzzz Order a 5 year supply and when it gets down to a 1 year supply reorder! You should NEVER run out! NEVER.

Don't you just hate making the trip to the shop only to see they have nothing useful to sell and you have to comprimise to buy something you really don't want? I do. When I go there I generally drop some serious coin they need to stock up for spring and fall runs. It amost makes me want to buy a tackle shop that has everything at inflated prices. Fishermen are like drug addicts, they will pay the price if your the only guy who has it. And I am suffering from lure withdrawl symptoms at the moment.

Habs plugs are hand made by one person that is why they are so awsome. You won't find a plug that he would'nt use himself. That is why they are hard to get.

Well guys for all of you who were in the shop on Friday...yes I only had 1.5 oz. John delivered about 30 Sunday afternoon and they were all gone on Sunday evening. He may make a few more 2 oz. I will need to check with him.

If anyone wants 1.5 oz e-mail me and I'll let you know what I have left.

John R what is the date of your RI leg?

Rhody Leg kicks off October 13 at your shop figure about 3pm or so - same as last time - OK? Did you get the check for the MDS tourney (another one - not to be confused with the SB Tourney)

For all of you new people, we've been having a 4 leg C&R tourney. The 2 Mass legs and the first Rhody leg have already happened and the final leg is a week from Saturday. Striped-bass.com members (those registered on the boards and have 10 posts by let's say Sunday the 7th or OK'd by me or Saltheart) can fish in groups and sign off on other fish caught. Longest overall bass wins the top prize rod/reel combo donated by M&D's/CapeCodTackle.com in Wareham. Other top prizes are a custom 10 foot rod from Weekapaug B&T/weekapaug.com, some Hab's plugs from John Haberik, Saltheart is donating a Canal Jigging stick and I'm building a rod as a prize as well... More details are on the Tourney Page

The current 4Leg leader fish are:

Redcrabbr - 42 inches
Fishpart - 41
Canalratt1 - 38

I'm expecting some big fish may bump somebody on the lucky 13th of October

Yearlong is Slipknot at 45"/32#s

Talking habs 2oz needlefish

Hey Guys!
I was @ Spag's in Shrewsbury tonight and they had a hole raack of 2 oz needlefish.
Needless to say, I bought the whole bunch.
You all might want to try there in the future; I was quite surprised.
Later,
Rick
