$%#@!@@$#$ bloooooofish this year?
i know a lot of you guys hate bloooofish (clammer), but how has your season been for them so far? i didn't get into my first blue of the season until July 1, and have only caught maybe 15-20 since. been all bass for me this year. i am not complaining, mind you, just not sure if it is a matter of the new to me areas i am fishing or if it is all over the place. the ones i have caught have all come in the past 2 weeks and they have been short, FAT, 8 - 10 pounders.

I like catching blues....especially if there are no bass to be had! The bigger the better! Beats catching the skunk sometimes!

We had a run of BIG blues at a spot a few clicks E of where I saw you Sat AM....
10-12lb.... snagged one in the back... felt like a good bass
There were tons of blues up inside the bay this year from mid June on... I think it's where your fishing... If you take out one blitzy night of mixed bass/blues in July, I have only about 10 surf caught blues this year

There were lots of Blues off Westport this Summer. I was lucky enough to be invited out in a boat several times, there was one day the schools of Blues stretched from Goosberry Island to the Sakonnet River in R. I. Literally as far as the eye could see, school after school.
I don't know if this deserves a - or a -
Right now I would be glad to hook a nice big Blue. Desparation is setting in.

May 100% Bass
June - 100% Bass
July 80% Bass / 20% Blues
August 100% Blues
September 90% Blues / 10% Bass
October 67% Bass / 33 Blues
My spring and summer started out great
all bass, until the last week of July. From August to the first week of October, I caught mostly blues (except for a handful of bass). Now its mixed.
The first blues were small (3-5 lbs) and their size progressed through the summer. My buddy caught one Friday night and it was around 10-12 lbs.
Unfortunately most of the bass have been less than 30
. Im gonna have to go over to soco.
