Question What kind of wood???

Ok everyone, I will be setting everything up tomorrow in the shed, Hot pots, Lathe, Anvil, Forge. I will be stopping by a friends ( yes I have some thank you ) to pick up some scrap wood from his sign business. My question is what type of wood do you use for different plugs? I know he has teak, oak, cherry and maple, he told me he could fill my truck up if I wanted to ( he burns it in his fire place, hopefully I can put it to better use ). Any recommendations, other type of wood i should get? Also if you could post a pic so I can get an idea for the body type that would be great.

Thanks
KL
