Rod Holders
I am looking for advise on if there is a place locally in RI or Mass where I can buy one of those racks that goes in the front of your car and about how much they are? I looked into getting roof racks for my car and for everything I was looking at 250$.

Berkely has a roof rack for like 8$. You just need to by stainless hardware for another 50 cents. Mine has held up for three years without a problem.

good to meet you too.
the surfcaster racks are out of western CT. that might be the most "local" you will find aside from getting something custom made at a local welder. all the other stuff i know of is down in Jersey.

You say on the front of your car- so do you mean a bumper mounted rod lolder?? you can make one out of PVC tubes and simply bolt them to your bumper..

I've seen these roof racks in Kmart-Walmart-#^^^^&s. You know, all of the upscale shops like those. I love mine, but I mounted some PVC on the sides of my cargo rack for rod launchers. These are reely convenient for when you are eeling and have to move spot to spot. Slide the rod down one launcher and the eel down the PVC next to it. That way your eel won't ball up on ya, and you don't have to throw away the eel you were using. Just be sure that you mount the tube high enough so there is enough clearence that your rods don't drag.

I have a rod rack atteched to my bumper that I made myself out of schedule 40 pipe ( electrical conduit ( grey ) ) . these 6 tubes are then screwed ( stainless ) to a piece of aluminum 8"X36" 1/4 thick . the aluminum is then bolted ( stainless ) to my bumper with 5 holes I drilles into the bumper . has been there since 99 or 00 with no problems . I do remove it during the no beach season .

you can get them from the surfcaster in CT or you can make your own out of PVC pipes.i would order reel grabbers at the surfcaster to put on your home made rack it stops the rods and reels from bounceing all over when your on a bumpy road
