NBA Brawl
Holy crap what a crazy brawl during the Pacers/Pistons game tonight. I have never seen anything like that! Just got home and saw the hightlights and un freakin believable. Detroit fans should hang thier heads in shame and never be aloud into the arena to see a game again. I usally rip on the NBA players for being thugs but for once i will stick up for the Pacer players. They had every right to defend themselves from those ******* fans in Detroit. I hope they arrest every damn one of those drunks. What a bunch off ********* in Detroit. Hey Detroit, maybe a little police presence next time. Little kids thowing stuff at the players too Guess thats the NBA crowd for you.
Let's keep the site f-bomb free, OK?

Just another example of how far the NBA has fallen since the 1980's and before. They are a league without class.
Skip, you mean that Artest had a right to go into the stands to punch a fan? I would have to disagree with that, strongly. I think if you were sitting in the stands with your kids you would agrgee with me. A fan throwing things at players is a security problem, not one that the players deals with. There is never an excuse to go into the stands.
It won't be long anyhow, the NBA ia facing their own lock out next summer, yeah, and who will take notice if they don't play????

Guess who plays Christmas day, Pistons/Detroit.
I think it will be a very merry christmas for the fans who took the punches (the fat kid with the Pistons shirt who got clocked will do very well)
This episode still pales in comparison to Terry O'Rielly climbing over the glass, punching a Rangers fan saying " Think you've got your moneys worth"

Yeah, all set here with the NBA! Just a "gang banga" mentality! Thugs and drug users....if they were not in the NBA they would be in prison! All of sports is on a slide folks most importantly the NBA! They need to institute stronger punishment methods for this crap and let me also say the gang mentality in the stands made it worse than it should have been.....something like that erupts close to the stands and there will always be those few fans who feel the need to get themselves involved by shouting racial slurs or throwing something into the fray and then it just proliferates from there with other fans thinking "hey, why not join in?"! Basically it is another example of not just how far sports is falling but how far the human race is falling even more so! Take a look around folks....the riot type atmosphere after a championship game? Riots, looting....and death as a reult of what should be joyous celebration? Did anyone see that young boy crying in the stands being held by his brother at the game last night after the fracus? Those people, players and fans should be ashamed of themselves but even more so, people as a whole need to take a step back and take a check of their behavior and climb a couple more steps up the evolutionary ladder! I myself am an inch away from staying away from all sports as they are not a good source of inspiration and relaxation anymore! As for the NBA....all done with that game! It is a joke across the board!

The dude who was on the court causing trouble deserved what he got. How is that any differert than a fan running out on the baseball field looking trouble and endangering the players. You go on the court/field you should expect to get pummled. You clearly saw him square up and want to fight Artest. he got what he deserved. Screw him, i hope he doesnt get a dime. Should be interesting to see how fans ge proscuted. Even palyers for that matter. But like I said, i blame the fans for this one. If someone throws something at me and i know who did it...Its on. Thats called selve defense. Even the cop interviewed by ESPN said the same thing. You have every right to defend yourself. I see your point about restraining ones selve but Artest was all jacked up after the fight on the floor with Wallace and the fan was just looking to entice him and start crap. It worked, and the fan got the crap kicked outta him.

They still play basketball. J/k I watched the fight it reminded me of the movie slapshot when the Chiefs jumped into the stands to fight.

Yeah, Skip, but Artest had NO IDEA who threw the object at him! He just went into the stands swingin' at the first guy he could get ahold of. He was lying on his back looking up when that cup of beer hit him, he didn't know who threw that. Self defense, but from whom?
The Detroit fans who acted out like this are dirtbags for sure... Anyone of us would be angry if some low-life scum bag throws something at you, but when you're a professional athlete being paid what... 8, 10, 12 million a year... you cannot bite the hand that feeds you no matter what.
Take the NBA, and the NHL for that matter, and flush 'em!

You guys see So. Carolina/Clemson?? The service academies and Ivy League are the only class organizations left. New school athletes ain't worth watching.
And what's with the blue football field at Boise State?

I hear the Sox voted Stump a half-share for scaring Francona and waking him up. He started making better decisions when he knew Stump was watching in the wings.

sign of the times no one cares about anything anymore you guys are right alot of them meatheads would be in the can or dead if it wasn't for basketball and this is the way they repay the fans the ones who really pay there salary. Is it our fault for letting them get away with all this?

They handed out some pretty hefty, and justified, suspensions today! Artest is out for the remainder of the season....2 others got 25 and 30 game suspensions and one guy from the Pistons got suspended 6 games! I guess you can pretty much count the Pacers out of the postseason!

WHOOSH down the crapper it goes.
I watched the celts play a great game yesterday. But all the
talk was about the brawl. Kinda took away from a good game.
I agree,
The sport has flushed itself. Started with that POS Rodman.
Then to the rapist Bryant. so on and so on. Now this,,, what great example for the "city" kids who live by the round ball.
Thugs and drugs.......how nice.
Thank god for football.......

i think that the persona of the nba is rapidly distancing itself from its major fanbase. ( not to sound racist ) but white males over 30 seem to make up the majority of sports fans. the league is killing itself by promoting this gandsta rap image, which appeals to a very limited number of fans- inner city and very young impressionable fans. if they don't clean it up... so long nba. i lost interest a few years back.
