Smile new stuff

I have been given odds and ends of peoples dicarded turnings over the last couple years, Some have chunks dug out, some have the thru holes coming out the side etc., flaws that make the rejects in the eyes of the really good lure makers on this site. I found I have a knack for bringing them back to life by patience, re-drilling, Famowood filler and cutting down the really bad ones and making them into something else. Here are some of my salvaged, re-worked in process. This was a discarded Bassmaster form his waste basket.

This was a Flaptail body that went horribly wrong and found new life as a popper.

Hey Karl! I like that! "Dumpster Divers Plug Co. Inc." On second thought I will just keep makin' 'em for the fun and enjoyment, when it becomes a business it becomes a pain in the ass.

Darter question

With that nice smooth curve, will that guy run a bit shallower than the standard darter, with its little kerf lip?

The popper is done (except for clear coat) Aluminum w/black head. I used a Cap'n Bill original hook hanger for the belly treble and a Cap'n Bill body weight as well. I kinda like the "Old School" look. I can't wait to toss this one onto the rocks at Pasque next May.

don't be disapointed if the finish doesn't stick to the silver finish..there's something in that color paint that dosen't let the clear stick.

BOAT fish do count.

Maybe a light spray coat of acrylic sealer before perhaps, then clear coat?
