of the frieghter which ran aground in a firce stor off of Dutch Harbor, AK. There were 27 crew members on board and the Coast Guard rescued all but six when their helicopter crashed. Six of the ships crew members were missing after being hoisted to safety. I lived on Kodiak Island and served on a Coast Guard Buoy Tender in Ak from 1996-1999. Sailing these waters gave me a greater appreciation of what the sea can do, and without a doubt are some of the most dangerous waters in the world. May those lost in the rescue rest in peace adn those who attempted to save their lives be given the strength to rescue sailors on peril again. I intend to go back this summer for some halibut fishing.
