Whoa! My memory has turned to dust! I'd forgotten all about that thread. Thanks for being my brain, Karl. Sheesh! No wonder the kids giggle whenever they see me. Thanks

Here is a picture of a few. The top 2 on left are Leftys, I made the 2 below that, CS made the yellow one below that and tagger made the gold one at the bottom. On the right the top 2 are ones I made at the same time as the ones above. The bottom right is a Lefty given to me by NIB. Looks to me like Lefty made 3 sizes as the 2 large ones are exact copies of the one I borrowed from a Ed P.

So how do they swim? I see mostly solid colors and the lips look like pikies, so I'm guessing they wobble. Floaters that dive to 2 to 3 feet?

Frasier: Niles, I’ve just had the most marvelous idea for a website! People will post their opinions, cheeky bon mots, and insights, and others will reply in kind!

little bit of wobbly but snake like a danny. Lefty makes out of pine I believe. I made mine out of cedar. I think the cedar works better as it has a little bit more weight.

The black an purple swimmer i made for slip a few yrs ago is a excact copie of one of Lefty's older plugs.its different from his styles today but u can see where he was going.I'am not sure but i don't think he's doin the show this yr.he only does the Asbury show not berkely.Lefty's son Wade is the real artist it's tough to find a single imperfection on his stuff. There's some kinda wierd mania building around thier stuff over the last few yrs.

A builder that used to work for lefty usta sell his customs.I think his stuff was better.never bought any but it was real nice. he did fishin freak kinda paints. His name was Skippy.I think he moved to Florida.A few yrs ago he Did the Berkley show. He couldn't do Asbury cause there was some mixed feelings between him a Lefty. He had a Display Case with maybe 15-20 different patterns displayed an he would take orders for 35 bucks a pop. That was the first time I seen a plug break the 30 dollar mark an u couldn't even take one home. Then there's this Guy named Gary an he sells his plugs as Bass Woods. Their a similar plug to the lefty's Nice work. I bought one just to have as he was a friend of a friend.his stuff was a big hit last yr.There's another guy in the Asbury club He calls his stuff Cyclone's Again nice stuff.I think he was the first one to make these little fat plugs that did very good. There are a few others that basically reproduce plugs in the Same vein as the Lefty's Like Tom Bottomley TB lures an Cannon. My friend "Big Bull" Billy Mac Fadden has been makin plugs longer than all of em he started wit needles as far back as the early 70's.Yrs before past he would sell his plugs for 10 a pop.We used to bust his chops as he deserved more doe but makin change would be a PITA.last yr he upped em to 15 a pc. We got alot of builders round these parts the last few yrs.

All Really Nice Stuff. They all seem to be on the light side for me. I make alot of my stuff 3 oz. or better for this reason. I found a hole new fisherey in the last few yrs by addin 30 yds to my cast..But there's enuff builders around here without me adding anything to the mix.Alot of builders here can equal the quality these guy put out.an to sell 200 -300 plugs at 20-30 bucks. In one or even to shows wouldn't be a bad way to supplement the yrs fishin cost's.If I did that I could sleep in a hotel or something on trips. Instead of my van.

Thanks NIB, that opens another whole world for me. I always knew that there were a couple of guys building , but never so many getting that kind of dough. Heck, I didn't know there were this many styles of plug.

Thanks for all that Nib ..I'm going to save this thread for Jeresy referrence .. Sounds like there's a lot of great builders in jeresy including you (smooch smooch).. It also sounds like Lefty deserves the credit for all this , setting the bar ,,.All these plugs with hangers opens up a whole new " Component Helll",,,,Split Rings ... anybody know where I can find a 4X strong split ring ,, say size 2 .. Looking for those eagle claw hooks on the Lefty PIA,, No 4x strong anymore,, I can't find .. Nice how the point on the hooks curve in so they don't cut up the bottom of the lure swining around ..

Now that's spooky! Was it our bud Merlin? Moved the tool box only to learn that there was more to know. Spent the afternoon POed and spinning wood. Got a call and we're closer now.

My new bosses omitted some requirements of my employ. Some that I disagreed with. we're negotiating. Wasn't exactly a transfer. More of a go over there, now.
