Cod Trip
OK - looking for a list of people and then we'll make some calls...
Looking at Plymouth or Gloucster and around 50 bucks. Date will be either a Saturday OR Maybe the Day after Thanksgiving (I'd need permission from my wife and some of you may need from your other half)... These boats usually leave around 6 am and return around 3pm... My limited COD experience says we are better from Plymouth north instead od running out of Rhody... Who is interested? and who has a prefference for a particular boat/skipper....

I'm in. Dependent on the wife of course.
I've never been, so I don't have a preference.

John either days will do for me. Best bet I've seen is one of the Yankee boats out of Glouster, its 42$ and a good boat with a galley and they put you on fish. They have mutiple boats so you have to decide what boat everyone goes on. I like the older boat better but not sure what is running. You can hold a spot by credit card and pay by cash or card when you get there. There is a decent resturant at the dock and free parking. Rcrabber that Icon is the ONE! John little help here, you know where i went to school.

some tips ?? from a novice..
..I know nothing....and I know you all probably know this ..but,
for the 'baiters'...
..if ya got 10 - 12oz. sinkers .........bring em'
..bring some Cod hooks too...sizes vary... 5/0 - 6/0 ??
..some guys even bring their own clams.. ??..crabs
..the mates on board don't tolerate knots or tangles much..they juss' cut em'...so if ya don't wanna pay the skipper double for gear bring yer own...( but they do have some for sale on board )..
...I use 14 - 17 oz. jigs..with a teaser set-up...but will have some tackle in case the bite is bigger on Bait..by the way, I'm not sure they sell jigs on board..
..umm overdress/for warmth! ( you can always take it off, but if you don't have it..you can't put it on ..)... you may also want to bring some gloves and sunglasses
...they will probably have a kitchen for H-dogs/and other greasy products... I'll bring my cooler full and hopefully after eating I'll bring her home full too.. .. full of Cod of course...
..on a sad note: ..Dramamine, Dramamine, Dramamine...I've seen way too many trips with half the passengers all layed out inside the boat...smellin the fumes of others ...not that I've never been one of em' ..but prepare yourself!
..I'll edit this, if I feel there's more to add...or anyone else can, if they'd like...

Mikey - talk to your friend on the andylynn please... Find out how much and if there is a people limit because it looks like we may have 15-20 people... Plymouth is cool too...
OK Tattoo
Jenn - you can rent gear no problem, sometimes I'd rather rent than bring my own as I'd rather tangle up theirs than mine... Cod fishing is a lot of fun and you and the hubby should go. Experience is not as important as you think with it too....
If you haven't been out on a cod boat before, do the dramamine as a precaution - wicked pissa important... (Also, don't eat three D&D bacon, egg & cheeses if you are not familiar with it )
Hey - betterhalf? Would you be interested if my mom or Leslie watches Liam???
OK - list:
Bloo
Slip
BM
Saltheart
Smokey
The Monster
Crbbr
oh yeh, me
Fishpart
C-Ratt
Tattoo
Striper1
Chubsdad
Jenn & Hubby?

Let's See:
Fishing on a boat out of the North Shore in mid-November.....Bloocrab painted such a pretty picture!
I'll have to think about that one - sounds really tempting - pass the Dramamine!
How's this for an answer - 'We'll see.'

...sorry if I scared anyone...
...Better Half, I didn't mean to make it ugly...I just don't like surprises ...thats why I shared the info, so those who may have not gone...aren't surprised!!... ..[ just some precautions ]
..but I truly believe the more the merrier on a Cod boat...it'll be a lot of fun!...

John the AndyLynn is a great boat too if you do his offshore trip. We may be able to charter the whole boat. I don't care for the inshore trip, he just heads towards Scituite and only goes a few miles out. I've fished next to him lots of times and he just anchors and does not do very good. His offshore trips are drifts and productive.

I'd be interested if a day is decided. The day after thanksgiving is out for me. Plus I would rather go when it is cold. True winter trip. AndyLynn would be great if you can get it. Please post a date, and if it is good I'd be in for 2 people.
