Im from the south shore.
Ive considered Yankee Fleet, but I did all right the last couple times on Captain Johns out of Plymouth. Glawsta is a long trip north.. and even longer trip south after 8 hours at sea and a cooler full of fish...

I fish with Yankee Fleet on occasion. Was there two weeks ago, waaaaay too many folks onboard, shoulder to shoulder, tangles all day long. Also they DO NOT ALLOW braided line. They will ask you to take the line off or put it away. I suppose the weekdays are much better than the weekends, keeps some of the riffraft away. I used to fish Capt. John's years ago but got tired of catching dogfish so I gave up on them. You may want to look into The Helen H on the cape and Walsh's in Lynn. I hear they run a pretty good outfit and thats where I'm headed next time. As for a SB trip, I'd like to partake, can surely help with expense's and have my own gear.

Oh I totally agree.. I did the normal Captain John's day trip last year... WAY too many people, but we revel in dogfish apocalypse, so when the cod werent biting, we were just "helping" get the dogfish back in the water..
However, the Stellwagon trip is like 1/2 the people and for the more hardcore type I think since its like double the cost. I think I saw 1 tangle all day on that trip and the boat absolutely cleaned up...
Good times..

Outfished went on yankees tues last week. Not too crowded and a decent bite of haddock. I've heard lotz of good things about walsh's but the clams can be sometimes good sometimes poor quality. If ur jigging that won't really matter, but personally I'm trying to cash in on the haddock bite right now.
bjs how many do they limit the stellwagon trip too?

I agree, mid-week trips are the way to go as well as the longer trips like stellwagon and the such. The two and three day trips look promising, planning on one of those very soon. I believe capt. John may not go out far enough, thus fishing warmer and shallower waters that attract the dogs. I grew tired of coming home empty handed and aggravated

If anyone is interested a bunch of us from Noreast.com are going on the Frances' fleet's trip to georges' bank leaving the dock on 5/17 and fishing an extended day on the 18th. I don't know if they have any spots left, but if they do you're all welcome to join us.

Could go to Seabrook, NH, buddy of mine came back from a marathon last week with 100# of haddock.
Later,

If anybody with another boat want's to meet up, I'm game for a cod trip. I'll be taking my grady white up sometime soon. I'd like company. I'll probably have a boat full, I can fit 4 guys comfortable. but If I have space, I'd be glad to bring someone else along. How does Mon or Tues of next week look???
