Weight for a Mavrick swimma

I made a mavrick type swimmer yesterday but just cant figure out how to weight it. Its made out of pine and is about an 1" at thickest point. Any suggestions? :-}

maybe between the lip and the belly hole put a nice slug of lead it's a start, ya have to try somewhere. Maybe a tad of lead in the rear also but with that profile, I would think it needs a heavy belly.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

I have not made any of that style, but for the cranks and minnow types I put a slug in the belly at the thickest part of the plug. I add enough weight so that the plug sits in the water with between 1/4 and 1/3 of the back above the water line when the hooks and lip are attached. I would stay away from lead in the tail unless you get too much swing in the tail and a larger hook will not calm it down.

I like that style ,, Put a hook hanger instead of a belly swivel and you got a Gary2.. A totally sealed plug ..
