How long to disgest a squid??

I caught a striper last night that I tried to revive for about 20 min. After not having any luck, I decided to split the fish with a guy who stood there and asked for the fish. I told him if he fillet it we could split it. Anyways, it had a large squid in it that looked perfectley fresh. I caught the fish in a river off of LI sound and don't think there are any squid there. How long would it take to digest the squid as I doubt the fish was in the ocean that afternoon?

don't know if the regs are the same there... but here(MA), you cannot mutilate the fish till it is home... head and tail must be intact... you may gut the fish but that is all.....

one more cast.....

don't forget to take your trash home

Western sound. Good point of the filleting, I normally never keep a fish so I'm not sure of the regs. Ignorance is no defense thought
