macks have arrived and cods are still around

Hey guys, I was jigging for macks with Beamie today and hooked up and lost less than a dozen of cods. I caught five cods and two were keepers. Macks are here.

Joe,
Are you saying you caught 5 cod ( of those 2 were keepers)
and lost only under a dozen?

Joe managed a couple nice inshore keeper cod doing the old cod check with the mackeral rig. Just have to go easy with the 3/0- hooks.

After we got a barrel of macs of live-lining we went fishing but way too slow Sunday in my area for bass. Went "offshore" for a while at the 21 to try to see if any biggens under the macs but no dice.

Guess that;s why they call it fishin' and not catchin'

All the Mackerel you could want off Gurnet Point on Saturday and Mackerel and Cod-6 keepers, between Graves Light and 3 1/2 fathom ledge on Monday. No Bass takers on live lined Mackerel either day.

also there are some shads, pollocks, and bergals on CCB (hint: I was fishing on a jetty in Cape Cod). I caught some Chinese poaching a small tog and a small striper. I measured the tog, but it was dying and short. I explained to them about the regulation and fines. They played dumb on me. I could have called DEM, but I have no number and I don't speak on the phone. Also one of them caught a baby striper on their sabaki rig and I told this guy to release it. He threw the micro on the rocks. I lost my plugs there (mambo, bomber, super strike popper, yozuri chrome blue mack swimming plug, white whistler, diamond jig from MikeCC and mag herring popper). I'm so pissed! Arrggg!!!!

MikeCC, thanks for the service today.

I got almost a 100 Macs off of the 21 Monday. I also picked up 4 cod with 2 keepers along with a nice Polock. I got a 22" Cod on the Sabiki hook that broke off in the boat...

the wind knocked my plug bag down, Bob. You are right. I am so INFURIATED because I have to spend more money on plugs. Those could have gotten me into some more bluefish yesterday.
