What is this boat worth?

My father has a 17 foot Seaway that he bought back in 1983, that we keep at a dock out behind his house. In the past 5 years we have only used it about 10 times. I have a friend that I think I'm going to sell it to and want to give him a good deal and at the same time, I would like to get around what it's worth.

It's a 1983 Seaway (commercial hull) slightly different from the regular Seaway, with a 1994 40HP Evinrude electric start/electric trim tiller motor with very little hours. It comes with a trailer & power winch and everything is in excellent shape.

What do you think it's worth????

I would ask at least $2500, anything more than that depends on how good a deal you want to give your friend.

Sell the boat to someone you don't know....not worth losing a friend over.

If you sell it for $2500 and you friend doesn't want it let me know. I'm interested! Do a search on Traderonline or some of the used boat sites. That's an excellent old hull. Those hulls were built to last a lifetime.

Whoever you sell to should be made aware that the "commercial" hull does not meet USCG flotation requirements. Good fishing hull but bring your back brace!!

I sold a 1984 boat/motor/trailer 17ft seaway 75hp rude. for $3K 2 or 3 years ago.
I wanted $4500 but had no luck. So I sold it to the guy who sits across from me at work. (with the deal I get to keep a key). It's still running good somewhere in and around Hull.
