Don't burn your spots, but fly is hot?
Hey guys nobody hardly ever posts here, which is somewhat understandable in the spring. I don't expect your spots to be burned but as fly fishermen we should be sharing what fly is hot and what is not. Thanks.

It's not relevant. The fly that caught so well for me on Monday night probably won't get used this weekend because I'll be fishing different water and different conditions.
Generally speaking though, in the spring around RI, a small sparse white clouser works well some of the time.

Roger

I don't know if it is an "ethical" fly or not but those gummy minnow "fly's" kick some butt. It is like cheating. Have you ever tried them?

Gummies
I make flies commercially on a small scale and have yet to make one. I have some nice patterns to follow and mean too but have yet to do so. If your using them where you live, with good luck, then I would have to make some before I fish the derby this year. Did you fish the rod & gun club derby? Who won?
