Great night

Caught my first large tonight 22 lbs.

When I got to the water, blues were everywhere. They shreaded a Tsunami so I tossed on a Pt Judith Joe sand-eel tin and hit a few more blues. Then got a nice bass, it was close to 28". (I don't carry a tape measure with me because I figure I'll know when I have a large fish.)

After the sun went down I changed spots and threw on a black sluggo. Every few casts I was on a nice fish. And then I had a big strike... my drag and rod started making noises that I've never heard before, I started talking to myself and hopping rocks trying to get a better place to land the fish. I knew this was a good fish. I got her in and she was the biggest fish I've landed from shore. I've put in a lot time this spring, she made it all worth-while.

Way to go, Drew

Hey...wait a minute...Jenn cut your head off in the picture

Ya gotta show the ear to ear grin, too, you know -

Nope, there's the grin in the second shot - many more to you!

Thanks guys. I’m still grinning from the catch. Jennifer was excited too... although she started crying when the fish gasped for air. BTW - Whats the best way to “off” the fish.

if you are near a tidal pool, take your knife and slit the gills. Then slide the fish in the pool. The fish will pump out blood and pump in seawater- after a few minutes you can pull it out of the pool and move it to high ground... it should be dead by them. When you go to fillet it, it will be clean as a whistle... no bloody fillets.
