Plymouth ramp update

Well as of yesterday morning still no dock at the Plymouth ramp. So much for the second week of June!

Anybody else heard anything new?

Fished there last Wednesday. Hundreds of 10- 12" schoolies inside the Bug Light. Fly-rodders dream. Couldnt seem to get into the big fish though. Macks were mighty thin off the Gurnet. Trawlers didnt seem to be having any trouble though. Went down yesterday to 2' waves breaking on the jetty. So much for the 1' or less forecast. Didnt even put the boat in the water. Got some stuff done around the house though!

Thumbs up

Hell has froze over. First the Red Sox now Plymouth is FINALLY putting in the dock!! No more touring the waterfront going from your boat to your car.

ramp in plymouth is done, but be carefull docking at it! cleats were installed backwards! if you hit hard they overhang the bumper slightly and will scratch your gelcoat!

About time too. Hope it doesnt increase the ramp traffic. Now if I can only find some time..... Any fish reports out of Plymouth? Work schedule has kept me off the water for two weeks.

Is it true they sit in lawn chairs and heckle the boaters as they return? Sounds to me like a place where civilized people no longer dominate, glad I don't live in plymouth or use that lo0usy ramp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make it idiot proof, and someone will make a better idiot.

They do, it is the highlight of there day. Get a life. You want to see crowded you should have seen Barnstable Harbor on 4th. at 3:30. Low tide at 4:30 no water at the ramp and 50 boats milling about to go home in 4 feet of water. Only enough room on dock for 1 boat and several people trying to put in at same time. Thanks honey. Enough to make you want to sell your boat. I thanked the wife several times for allowing me to experience it live. I usually am out of there by noon on a weekend but not when we are beaching it we have to stay till everyone else decides to leave A great ramp during the week but weekends suck after 2PM. Paul

Thanks for the heads up on the cleats, how long with they take to turn em around!! They'll start or end (or both) many days pi$$ed off.

If I was to grade this ramp/dock I'd give it a C- .
All ramps should be modeled after Green Harbor.

Used the Plymouth ramp Tuesday morning. Sure enough the cleats were facing out on the new dock. Thanks for the heads-up! But low and behold when I returned they were turned around! Gotta wonder, was it some ambitious boater.......

I offered to get a wrench and do it myself, but they said they would fix it.
happened to be at the dock when the guys that engineered it were inspecting
the dock on monday. pointed out the cleats were backwards and they agreed.
glad to hear i can leave the wrench home next time i go!
