Ref called it an Incomplete after review. He got to see many views, some that we might not see, and it was sufficient enough for him to OVERRULE the fumble originally called on the play.
Pass Incomplete....

I wouldn't have argued with the original call, but then again I don't know all the rules and the Pats certainly seem to be getting the breaks this year. Good be they are destined to bring home the big prize this year, I know I would bet against them. I'm still shocked that they even came close after being down 10 points, especially in those conditions, normally I'd have been asleep by the end of the 3rd quarter. This team is different and they proved it again last night, still I'm amazed they were able to pull it out, bad-good call aside.

According to the NFL rule book it is not a fumble unless the quarterback tucks the football completely into his body. Brady still had the ball quite a few inches from his body, therefore it was not completely tucked, ruling is incomplete pass his arm was in motion. I felt that it should have been an incomplete pass from the begining, I have seen that call before. On another note Oakland deffinately got the short end of the chain on the challenge in the first quater.

Ya rules are rules and under 2 minutes the officials can review the call.
If it was the other way around and we knocked the ball away from Gannon in the same situation, they wouldn't be crying then about the rule and we would accept it cause that's the rule.
It was ruled an incomplete pass but even Brady walked off the field feeling it was a fumble so he didn't even know the rule.
The NFL may or may not make a change to that rule next year , we'll see.
Victory is sweet
This was almost a make-up for the Ray Hamilton roughing the passer boner call in 1976, which effectively stopped the Pats from winning a superbowl.
Fate is on our side this season.

The defender also hit Brady on his helmit which was never called and only Lobel picked that up on his sportscast. Remember "76" its Payback Boys!

Not that it matters
It was a fumble. Ball was not coming out of his hands. Bad call in my book period.

The game is played by a set of rules. According to the rules, it was clearly an incomplete pass.
THe same thing happened in the 1st Pats vs. Jets game. The Pats were on the other side of the ruling when Vinny T did essentially the same thing.
As far as the Pats vs. the Steelers ... who knows ... thats why they play the game. I'll be watching!
