help identify this plug
Just found this on ebay amongst a "tacklebox" sale some darters and these
swimmers about 6inch without hooks ,with a small stainless perforated disc behind the weight . Any idea what that is for? its on each lure . they are NICE.

swimmer's look to be a knock off of a beachmaster atom jr. // darter's ?? but look to be made by the same person.

bechmaster doesnt use eyes, nice plugs though, like the shape of those darters. The hole looks like its there to hold a piece of sponge soaked in bunker oil maybe. :-}

this is a beachmaster knockoff of an Atom Jr. with eyes... dosen't have that funky bottom though..

I have 4 of those plugs also. They are not recently manufactured. Probably built in the 80's to early 90's. Not sure if they are beachmasters though.

I dont know for sure either, but a place to put scent is very likely, as this was very popular at that time. Originally I thought maybe he had intended to use 2 belly hooks then changed his mind after drilling a bunch of them, since they would have been too close and married on every cast, but the scent thing sounds much more logical.
