bought a calcutta 401, lefty.
Most I ever spent for a reel but Im going 100% convench next year.

WOW, 350 just to get a lefthand model. A regular 400B is like 190.

They only make 400 size lefties in the higher end TE series---none in the B series.

calcutta is one of my favorite reels (and i try them all).

OOooohhhhhh, you got the TE

I got a sweet deal on one a while ago. If you keep it sand free it's about as close to perfect as you can get.

Of course mine, which really has never been abused is broken waiting to be shipped back to Shimano

I like my Calcutta 400. Less capacity and distance than an abu 6500 but a much better drag.

You'll love the calcutta and its unmatched drag. IMHO its the best reel you can buy for the money. Smooth and reliable. It has been my go to reel (400)for years. Enjoy the reel.

I just got a (slightly used)700S in perfect condition off E-bay for $92.00 I can't wait to use it!!! I got it for casting to sbft and pitch baites to white marlin. Although I must admit, I'm gonna need some practice casting a conventional.
